Adopting from Blue Bloods Thoroughbred Adoption and Placement

Here are the steps to adopting your next equine partner!

Step 1: You may choose to download and mail or email the Adoption Application or choose the Google Forms Application. Fill out the application completely, answering all questions. You will be asked to provide references of your current veterinarian and farrier, proof of residency, and pictures of where the horse would be located. Once completed, mail or email the downloadable form to us, or submit your Google Form. There is a $15 processing fee for adoption applications which can be paid by cash, check or through PayPal by clicking the "Add to Cart" button below. Further directions will be enclosed in our application below.

Step 2: Once your application has been approved, you can arrange an appointment to meet the horses. Blue Bloods will work with you to find the perfect equine partner. Please ask lots of questions and take your time getting to know our horses. Potential adopters will be given full disclosure of any known medical or behavioral issues prior to adopting. We strive to ensure that each of our horses has the appropriate human match, so we offer adopters a 14 day trial period. This trial period gives you time to more fully assess the horse in your setting and be sure it's a good match.

Step 3: Now that you have found your new best friend, read through and sign the adoption contract (usually signed at the farm or before shipping.) Please read through our adoption contract found below and feel free to reach out via phone or email if you have any further questions regarding the adoption process.

‚ÄčNote: Blue Bloods offers select off-the-track Thoroughbreds for adoption to approved homes in the southeast. Please reach out if you have questions regarding adoption location.
