Blue Bloods Thoroughbred Adoption and Placement and Averett University Host Successful Showcase

December 2nd, 2017 (Blanch, NC) - Five Averett University students have spent countless hours at Melrose Farm (Blue Bloods host farm) since August of this year learning and growing along side their assigned thoroughbred. On December 2nd, these students, alongside alumni and volunteers, got the chance to show off the work put into our horses in the hopes of finding forever homes. Over ten horses in various stages of retraining had a fifty person audience to watch green horses lunge, flat work on horses ridden only a handful of times, the solid foundations built on the Averett Training Horses, and lastly a mini-clinic by Ben Sennett who demonstrated a ground work session on Blue Bloods horse Padre Graz. Every horse was exceptionally behaved in the buzzing atmosphere of a crowd and ended up being an excellent training day, exposure, and one more step closer to forever homes for our horses. Thank you to those who came to support and attend our Showcase, a job well done by the students who worked tirelessly to bring along their equine partners, and Josh Bogg's Photography for the quality photo's from the day. We are looking forward to our 2018 Averett Retraining Class!
