STEADY, SAFE and SOLID

Are you looking for a steady, been-there-done-that horse for you or your children to enjoy?

This 16.2, big-bodied, dark bay mare, Blue Sky High, is a 2000 model by 1989 Kentucky Derby winner Unbridled (second in the Preakness and fourth in the Belmont Stakes).

The unraced Blue Sky High was destined for the family life and had eight foals, the last one in 2015. Her owners chose to retire her and asked Blue Bloods to find her a loving home where she can enjoy a second career as a pleasure, hunt or trail horse.

This lovely mare, with a beautiful, friendly temperament, is steady enough for an advanced beginner and responsive enough for an intermediate rider to enjoy.

Blue Sky High served as a kids’ camp horse in the North Carolina mountains for the summer. The camp program manager writes: "Blue is very good with kids. She is quiet and easy to saddle and calm in the ring. She has a solid walk, trot, canter and will go over poles. We put our older beginner riders on her."
